Two fans who raised a flag of Greenland as the United States played Denmark in men’s hockey at the Winter Olympics say they did so as a gesture of European support for the island and for Denmark.

Denmark unveiled its roster for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 on Jan. 7, headlined by Ottawa Senators forward Lars Eller and Carolina Hurricanes forward Nikolaj Ehlers. This is just Denmark's second time participating in the Olympics in men's hockey. It finished seventh at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Czechia came into the 2026 Winter Olympics as a popular dark horse. Nobody expected the Czechs to go toe-to-toe with Canada or Team USA, but they had enough talent to perhaps nab a bye into the quarterfinals and maybe make a push for a medal.

After a dominant win over Latvia, the Americans followed it up with another strong outing -- this time against Denmark

Team Denmark will play against a lineup full of NHL stars for the first time in a best-on-best tournament, facing Team USA at Santagiulia Arena (3:10 p.m. ET; Peacock, USA, ICI Télé, CBC Gem, TSN).
